be determined in accordance with the procedure specified in specification MIL-P-223.
4.4.2 Ballistic test.
4.4.2.1 First article and initial production. The test shall be conducted in accordance with
4.4.2.3. Beginning with the first lot produced and continuing until three consecutive lots have
complied with all the acceptance criteria contained herein, 20 sample cartridges shall be selected
at random from each lot for this test. The 20 sample cartridges shall be conditioned and fired at
70°F±2.5° (21°C±1.5°). Items shall be temperature conditioned for a minimum of 24 hours. If
any cartridge fails to comply with the requirements of 3.5, the lot shall be rejected.

subjected to adverse conditions, however brief, at any time since previous tests, the primer lot
shall be subjected to and shall satisfactorily pass the check test specified in the applicable primer
loading specification immediately before the primer lot is assembled into cartridges (see 6.4).
