bodies or base plugs shall be identified to that particular lot
until satisfactory completion of mechanical properties tests.
4.3.1.7 Projectile lot. The body heat treatment, stress
relieved, tubing, base plug or miscellaneous lots that have been
determined to have complied with the yield strength and percent
elongation requirements may be regrouped for assembly into
projectile lots.
4.3.2 Classification of characteristics.
a. Sampling requirements. Inspection sampling requirements
for critical, major and minor characteristics are defined
in MIL-STD-1916. Unless otherwise specified, inspection
level IV shall be used for all characteristics defined as
majors and inspection level II for all minor
characteristics. Critical characteristics shall be
addressed in accordance with MIL-STD-1916.
b. Conformance inspection. Conformation inspection shall be
performed in accordance with paragraph 4.3.2.1 through
4.3.2.7. For all conformance inspections the same sample
specimen may be used for all non-destructive examinations
or tests.
c. Alternative inspections. Alternative conformance
inspections shall be submitted and approved in accordance
with MIL-STD-1916.
